Empty Bowls Minneapolis unites the community each year on "SOUPer Bowl Sunday" to support local nonprofits while enjoying a hearty meal of soup, bread, and dessert generously donated by local restaurants.
Join us for next year's event on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026. Watch this site for details.
Our Empty Bowls event is founded on the belief that providing support for stable housing and employment empowers individuals to achieve financial and academic success, break the cycle of chronic homelessness, and to embrace their role as valued members of our community. Our partners change yearly based on community needs and volunteer interests.
For a suggested $25 donation, you can choose a unique, handmade bowl crafted and donated by local artisans. Enjoy your meal in it during the event and take it home as a keepsake! Compostable bowls are also available.
Nicollet Square, located in the King Field neighborhood of South Minneapolis, is a Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative project offering efficiency apartments to formerly homeless youth, along with social, emotional, and employment support services.
TRUST INC. delivers nutritious meals to seniors who are unable to prepare their own meals and friendly volunteer drivers provide not only nourishment but also a personal connection through regular check-ins and relationship-building.
Harvest from the Heart offers access to healthy foods while empowering individual choice. Shoppers are welcome to visit once a week, and all resources are provided free of charge.
KFNA is an organization that celebrates and values the diverse people and experiences within its community. It supports affordable housing options for residents while fostering connections, building a sense of community, and encouraging active engagement.
On behalf of everyone involved in the Empty Bowls Minneapolis event, we want to express our deepest gratitude for their incredible support and generosity over the past three years. Their willingness to host this event has made a meaningful impact on our community, helping us come together to fight hunger and support those in need.
We truly could not hold this event without Judson Church! Their kindness, hospitality, and dedication to service inspire us all, and we are so thankful to have them as a partner in this important mission.
